Company / Philosophy
1920 – George Jowitt & Sons Ltd founded in Sheffield, England manufacturing ‘artifical’ abrasive wheels to replace the hazardous natural millstone wheels of old.
1957 – The Dutch subsiduary opens in Eindhoven, Holland to manufacture and service customers in the vicinity and in particular Philips Industries.
1962 – Our present factory is built in the town of Best, Holland to supply prestigious customers in mainland Europe including SKF, Caterpillar and ZF.
1998 – We are accredited with ISO 9000:2000 certification.
2002 – As a result of an MBO the Dutch operation becomes a fully independent company in ts own right, aiming to develop sales in Europe and further afield.
2007 – The factory is extended to meet the growing demand for surface grinding wheels and segments in many industry sectors: Bearings; Springs; Machine Knives; Automotive Components; Compressor and Pump Parts; Tooling; Cutlery and Hand Tools.
2008 – The ROXOR ABRASIVES rebrand is launched, clearly differentiating the Company and its unique products and service offering.
2015 – Emma Aguilera takes over as CEO and sole shareholder, bringing further investment and dynamism to the company, strengthening its position in the marketplace and securing its future.
2018 – We are accredited with ISO 9001:2015 certification.
2019 – The Roxor team grows as more industry experts come on board to reinforce new product development and business generation.
TODAY - Roxor Abrasives are active members of national and European trade associations: FEPA, SNAS and BAF ensuring that we follow the highest standards and strive to be best in class.
The safe use of abrasive products is a primary concern and for that reason Roxor offer face-to-face safety awareness training courses to all our customers.
To reinforce their green credentials, Roxor are participating in the industry-leading sustainability initiative ‘SEMA’ in collaboration with FEPA.
